The Down Syndrome Foundation held its 6th annual educational workshop at The Toles Center. There were over 100 teachers, parents, OTs, PTs, and SLPs from all over the state in attendance to learn new information and gain new knowledge to help them in their everyday work with children. Each year we host a workshop to help teachers and others be prepared if they have or may have an individual with Down syndrome or any other disability in their classroom. We had a great turnout this year with many local teachers and therapists running breakouts, Kevin Honeycutt as our Keynote speaker and Andrew Lewis of Artesia as our Self-advocate (Individual with Down syndrome) Speaker.
