As part of the city’s ongoing “Clean and Safe” program, Roswell residents can save not only the landfill fees usually charged to dump structure-demolition materials, but can also save a trip to the landfill.

Through August, citizens can take materials associated with the removal of dilapidated structures to the roll-off container at the Elk’s Pool parking lot in south Roswell. The pool is located off Southeast Main Street just south of East Poe Street.

During the remainder of this year’s “Clean and Safe” program, which runs through October, the roll-off will be stationed at different locations to provide a convenient spot in town for debris to be disposed of. The location will be announced each month.

In addition, during the program, the city is waiving the landfill fee for materials from the demolition and removal of condemned and dilapidated structures in Roswell. The initiative is designed to make it financially easier for people to remove houses, commercial buildings, storage sheds or any other structures that have become eyesores and pose safety hazards.

The landfill is at 3006 W. Brasher Road and is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
