The latest guest speaker at the Sunrise Optimist Club of Roswell was the coordinator of Roswell’s Special Olympics program, Lizzy Owen. She gave a very informative talk on the different events held during the Special Olympics, the cost for sending our local athletes and the need for partners for the athletes during these events. Owen expressed how they can always use financial help as well as volunteers. A trip to Farmington for an event is next on the agenda.

The Sunrise Optimist Club invites speakers throughout the community to talk to the club each Wednesday morning, 7 a.m., at the Red Onion Restaurant during regular meetings.

If you would like to know more about the Sunrise Optimist Club and their many programs to benefit the youth of Roswell, or hear the community speakers, join us for a breakfast meeting any Wednesday, or contact membership chairman Roger K. Burnett 420-9420.
