The shooting was reported to police at about 2:15 p.m. when Tarleton who was in the vehicle transporting the victim to a nearby hospital called 911, according to a press release from the Roswell Police Department.

The victim, a 35-year-old Roswell man, was transported and later left at the emergency room where he received treatment for wounds he is expected to recover from, the release states.

Tarleton was charged with accessory to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and distribution of marijuana.

Perez was charged with tampering with evidence and false imprisonment.

An investigation by the RPD indicates an ongoing issue involving the victim and one of the people charged in the arrest may have been what sparked the confrontation Wednesday afternoon that also involved other people and led to the shooting, according to the release.

Clements, Tarleton and Perez allegedly refused to allow the victim to leave the residence after the shooting. Tarleton and Clements then drove the victim to the hospital, with one of them threatening the victim with greater harm if he implicated the suspect in the shooting.
