Higher-learning educators visit Optimists

Donna Oracion, from Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell campus and Gen. Grizzle, from the New Mexico Military Institute spoke at the regular meeting of the Sunrise Optimist Club on Wednesday. They both gave important information while speaking favorably of the upcoming bond election this coming November, higher education Bond D. Each explained why the money was needed and what areas the money would be used for. ENMU-R will be upgrading the welding and auto mechanics classes. NMMI plans on addressing safety and code deficiencies, plus renovations to the barracks restrooms. They also spoke in favor of the Library Bond, which also is being voted on in November.
