Frank Lucero of Roswell, NM passed away August 5, 2018 in Las Cruces, NM. He was born January 5, 1928 to Ted and Isabel Lucero. He served in the United States Army Airborne Division in Japan from March 1, 1946 to July 12, 1947. Frank served as past commander of the VFW of Roswell and was also a member of the Veterans Honor Guard.

Preceding him in death are his parents Ted and Isabel, wife Betty, daughter Rosemary “Doy” Cobos, stepson Billy VanVerth and sisters Clara and Helen.

Surviving him are his companion Lilly Ferreira, his sons Orlando Lucero and his wife Mary, and Jerry Lucero. Son-in-law Joe Manuel Cobos, 14 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids, special primos Antonio Nuñez and Leo Alirez, and numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Pete and Mercy Roybal and family for all their compassion and caring for him in his final years.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am at the General Douglas L. McBride Veteran’s Cemetery, 3101 S. Main St. on Friday, September 7th.
