Irene M. Skipworth-Foster, was born March 2, 1931 and peacefully went to be with Jesus August 22, 2018, at home surrounded by loved ones.

If you had the amazing opportunity of knowing Irene you would know that she was a remarkable and unique human being. Irene had many accomplishments in truly a life well-lived. Most importantly she was an Ambassador of Heaven…she loved Jesus and she told so many people about his love. She was a loving, devoted, and yes, patient mother who sacrificed so much for her children. Her devotion to family and friends was precious to see over the years and it was clear that she was loved and respected by so many. Sweet and kind hearted toward others, a real model of her faith.

Irene graduated from Sacred Heart University in Houston where she earned a B.S. degree in Nursing, a field she was actively employed in for over 40 years. Highlights of her career included working on the surgical team with the renowned Houston heart surgeon Dr. Michael DeBakey and serving the State New Mexico Chaves County Health Department in Roswell for 25 years. She loved her colleagues and her job which included well-baby clinics, family planning, administering immunizations, rabies treatments and care for those with AIDS.

Her hobbies included being with family, watching movies, Bible study, sign language, and dancing for Jesus.

Irene was so proud of her family heritage. Her father, Erminio C. De Baca, served in WWII and later worked with the Kennedy administration and her mother, Maria Quirina Tomasita Perea De Baca, was a strong and beautiful woman.
