Stan Steven Carroll, DVM, 66, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV.

Born March 2, 1952 in Los Alamos, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Floyd Snodgrass and Louise Moritzky Carroll.

He was of the Christian faith.

Dr. Carroll graduated from the University of Oklahoma, class of 1983 with his DVM . He then worked as an equine veterinarian for 35 years and retired from his practice, Carroll Equine in Ranson. He was an avid outdoors man, golfer and wine connoisseur. Friends and family were of greatest importance to him. He is now with his departed faithful dog, Levi.

In addition to his mother, Louise Carroll, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Elissa “Cissey” Carroll, at home; two daughters, Shannon Carroll of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Kelly Carter and husband, Sean of Mesa, AZ; one step-son, Jason D. Ferguson of Harpers Ferry, WV; two grandchildren, Taylor and Brayden Ferguson; three brothers, Eugene Carroll and wife, Jenny of Roswell, NM; Roy Carroll and wife, Angeline of Waverly Hall, GA and Harlan Carroll and wife Jamie of Los Vegas, NV and faithful canine companion and best friend, Bear.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ted Carroll and canine companion, Levi.

Services will be announced at a later date.
