Council votes against naming center after Chávez

The Roswell City Council voted to not approve the resolution for naming of the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center after César Chávez. Twenty-six people publicly shared their opinions. Of those, 15 spoke in favor and 11 spoke in opposition. After three hours of the meeting had passed, including public presentations and discussion between city councilors, the council voted 7 to 3.
