Ellen Holm, 88, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, in Roswell, NM. She was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and after marrying Walter Holm, her husband of 69 years, she moved from coast to coast, raising her family and residing in many locales including Chicago, Los Angeles, Trexlertown, PA, Las Vegas, NV and Las Cruces, NM. She had been a resident of Roswell, NM since 1968 and called it home ever since.

She was a gentle woman of extraordinary faith who never compromised her love for life. She was a fantastic cook who never failed to surprise her family with something grand for the evening meal. As a mother, she was constantly meeting the needs of her three children as well as several foster children that she and her husband took in as their own. At one point she was caring for seven children in her home.

She worked a variety of jobs, ranging from a secretarial position in the Wrigley Building in downtown Chicago, to a Vice-President in a local New Mexico bank where she helped the bank make the transition into the computer age, managing computer operations in the 1980s and 90s.

The youngest of five sisters, she was active in church and always found time to bring a meal or assist a family in need. She loved to read and was well-known for her gentle spirit. She is survived by her husband, three children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial for family and close friends on Saturday at 2 p.m.
