ENMU-Roswell observes Fair Day 

In recognition of the opening day of the Eastern New Mexico State Fair, no classes will be held Monday, Oct. 1 at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. The campus will also be closed the morning of Oct. 1 but will open at 1 p.m.

Regular campus hours and classes will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 2. For campus information, call 575-624-7000.

North Union Avenue project update

The final paving for the North Union Avenue project has been completed at the intersection of North Union Avenue and 19th Street. Beginning Monday, the full length of North Union Avenue between West Country Club Road and West 19th Street will be open to traffic. Although, drivers will be limited to the two inside lanes, since there is ongoing construction for sidewalk and lighting on the outside lanes.

Registration winding down for youth basketball

This Saturday is the final day for registration for youth basketball at the Roswell Adult and Recreation Center for boys and girls ages 5-8. The games will begin in October.

All children are guaranteed to play at least two quarters per game. The cost is $40 plus tax for the first child and $35 plus tax for each additional child of the same family.

The child must be an eligible age by Dec. 31. First-time players need to bring a birth certificate to verify age when registering. Register at the Roswell Adult and Recreation Center at 807 N. Missouri Ave. Citizens can call 575-624-6719 for more information.
