An armed robbery occurred at a convenience store Monday, but the robber ended up leaving the store with only a pack of cigarettes.

The robbery took place at about 10 p.m. at the Stripes Convenience Store in the 600 block of South Main Street, according to a news release from the Roswell Police Department.

A security camera in the store showed an individual dressed in a ski mask and black clothing come into the store with a large bag from which a shotgun was pulled. The release states it is believed the robber was a male.

The robber demanded the clerk give him money from the cash register — but later left with only a pack of cigarettes when he learned the register drawer contained only $20.

The pack of cigarettes taken was valued at $7.56, an incident and investigation report on the robbery states.
