New pavement to be installed on South Washington

A project that will remove old pavement on a section of South Washington Avenue in the south part of Roswell and replace it with new pavement is scheduled to begin today.

During the work, South Washington Avenue will be closed from West Poe Street to just south of Lusk Street during daytime hours, about 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After the initial removal of the existing pavement, the road will be drivable on the gravel surface until the new pavement is installed.

Residents of that section of South Washington Avenue are asked to keep parked vehicles off the street and away from the curb during the daytime project hours. Vehicles left on the street or too close to the curb may be towed if they are interfering with the project.

The City of Roswell thanks its citizens for their patience and understanding as the city works to improve this and other sections of road throughout Roswell.
