New Mexico Military Institute president and superintendent Maj. Gen. Grizzle was guest at the Roswell Woman’s Club meeting on Oct. 3 at Los Cerritos Mexican Kitchen. Grizzle is seen here explaining the necessity to support and vote for Bond D at the upcoming election on Nov. 6. After describing the interior problems including wiring and the outdated and worn down sanitation rooms, called barrack sink rooms, Rhonda Johnson said that there would be no additional taxes and asked Grizzle to confirm that fact. Grizzle agreed and said, “There will be no tax increase to vote for the New Mexico Higher Education Bond or a tax decrease to vote against it. The bond replaces the one from 2008. The only time it was voted down was in 2010 and the taxes didn’t go down that year or up two years later when it went through.” The club women voiced their surprise about this news and said they would talk about it to others.
