The Dexter Football team will host a Pink-Out this Friday, Oct. 26, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Coaches, coaches’ wives, players and the Dexter community have devoted extra effort this year to honor the survivors, remember those lost, and support the progress we are making together to defeat cancer.

During halftime of the Dexter Demon varsity football game this Friday at 7 p.m. between the Demons and the Tucumcari Rattlers, the Demon football program will present a check for $1,219 to the Chaves County Cancer Fund in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Demon football program, coached by Arturo Duran, facilitated a fundraiser — all proceeds went towards the donation. The check will be given to Teresa Brewton, the Vice President of the Chaves County Cancer Fund, by Melissa Duran, wife of Coach Duran, along with the other coaches’ wives.

The money was raised by selling pink shirts and pink hair bows that will be worn during the Pink-Out game by the Demon fans and family.
