RDR earns multiple awards from NM Press Association

The staff of the Roswell Daily Record earned a number of awards for newspaper excellence during the New Mexico Press Association’s (NMPA) annual convention in Albuquerque over the weekend.

The convention brings together newspaper industry professionals for discussions of important issues and networking each year.

The NMPA’s Better Newspaper Contest, a high point of the convention, annually honors outstanding work performed by newspaper staffs around the state.

The Daily Record earned nine awards across multiple categories.

Sandra Martinez won first place in the category of Auto Advertisement. Reporter Lisa Dunlap won first place in the Education Writing category.

The RDR staff was honored with a first place award in the category of Shared/Signature Page, and Composing Director Aric Loomis won first place for Best Marketing Kit.

The RDR staff also won second place for Best Classifieds Section, and Toby Martinez won second place in the Sports Photo category. Mary Morgan won second place for Real Estate Advertisement, and Manny Gonzalez took second in the category of Community Event Advertisement. JT Keith, Toby Martinez and Aric Loomis combined for second place in the category of Supplements & Special Sections Advertising.
