Teen killed in vehicle crash on US 70

A Roswell teen died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on US 70.

New Mexico State Police received a call at about 6:44 p.m. after a 16-year-old was struck by a 2014 Ford Mustang while riding in the middle of the roadway near the 339-mile marker northeast of Roswell, according to a press release from the State Police.

The minor was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash and the driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist will not be charged with any crime.

The name of the driver will not be released because he was not charged with any crime.
