MainStreet Roswell’s First Friday, involving many downtown businesses, honors active duty military and veterans, building upon the nation’s celebration of Veteran’s Day later this month.

The event starts at 5 p.m. and runs until about 8 p.m.

Some downtown businesses will offer special discounts and free gifts for veterans, as well as First Friday specials for other customers and shoppers. Other locations will collect donations for holiday food baskets for veterans in need, and those attending also will have the chance to visit some businesses where they can make thank you cards for veterans and active military members.

Food trucks, deejays, music acts and tattoo artists also will be on hand at various locations.

A detailed list of the evening’s events and merchant offerings are on the MainStreet Roswell website at mainstreetroswell.org.
