A Roswell grandmother died, and two of her grandchildren were hospitalized with injuries following a two-vehicle accident on North Main Street Thursday afternoon shortly before 5 p.m.

Peggy Moehring, 68 of Roswell, along with her 14-year-old grandson and 13-year-old granddaughter, sustained serious injuries when the blue Nissan SUV they were in was involved in an accident with a white Chevrolet pickup truck at the 3000 block of North Main Street, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the Roswell Police Department.

Moehring was transported to a hospital where she later died. The two grandchildren were then flown to other medical facilities for further treatment, Wildermuth said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old man, also from Roswell, appeared to be uninjured and was not hospitalized.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
