A man was wounded in a shooting Monday by an unidentified suspect who fled the scene.

Police officers were dispatched to the 600 Block of East Sixth Street in reference to a shooting, according to an incident and investigation report filed by the Roswell Police.

The shooting had happened at the location at about 12:30 p.m. and happened in a shed-like structure used as an apartment, according to an email from Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the RPD.

The victim — a 39-year-old male — was taken to a local hospital where he suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Wildermuth said he does not know what kind of gun was used in the incident, and the investigation into the incident remains active.
