Two-vehicle collision, shots fired reported Saturday

Roswell Police responded late Saturday afternoon to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Union Avenue and McGaffey Street followed by a report of shots fired.

The crash between an SUV and a pickup truck was called into the the Roswell Police Department at about 5 p.m, Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the RPD, stated in an email Monday.

Following the crash, it is believed an occupant of the pickup fired shots at the SUV.

“The SUV drove away and the occupants of the pickup fled on foot,” Wildermuth said.

The SUV was later discovered abandoned in the 1100 block of West Summit Street, with bullet holes in the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation, according to Wildermuth.
