Chaves County Commissioners present Maggi Loudermilk with her crown during the board’s Nov. 15 meeting. Loudermilk was chosen as the 2018-19 Chaves County Fair Queen during the Eastern New Mexico State Fair, with the selection occurring Sept. 30. Loudermilk, of Roswell, is involved in Future Farmers of America, serving as a District 5 officer. She plans to attend New Mexico State University to study agribusiness after graduating from high school. The commissioners, from left, are Jeff BIlberry, James Duffey, T. Calder Ezzell Jr., Will Cavin and Robert Corn. The annual Eastern New Mexico State Fair Queen contest is open to girls 16 to 24, who are judged on horsemanship, appearance and interviewing and presentation skills. In addition to a state fair queen, the contest names several different winners, including the Chaves County Fair Queen. (Submitted Photo)
