A local nonprofit that strives to place pets from the Roswell Animal Shelter into temporary homes will raise money Saturday by holding an indoor yard sale at the Roswell Mall.

Representatives of From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport said the group will hold an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Julie Corbell, a volunteer for From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport, said the yard sale will take place in the mall next to Zales.

From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport seeks to match pets from the Roswell Animal Shelter to temporary homes in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming until those pets can be placed in permanent homes, Corbell said.

Proceeds from the sale will go to cover expenses related to transportation, food for the animals and other costs associated with getting them into temporary shelters.

She added that so far, 50 to 60 people have pledged to donate a variety of items to be sold at the sale.

Many people can’t afford to donate money directly, but many of those same people do have old items that they aren’t using that the group can sell in order to raise money, Corbell said.

She added that From Forgotten to Forever Rescue & Transport is also always looking for volunteers.

People interested in volunteering with the group can contact Trysee Wyche at 575-317-5040.
