Main Street glows Saturday night as the 2018 Holiday Electric Light Parade brings music, brightly decorated floats and a festive atmosphere to the city. This year, 33 individual entries, including this one by Church on the Move, the winner of the “Best Crowd Appeal” award, drove by hundreds of people gathered along Roswell’s main thoroughfare for about an hour to enjoy the annual tradition organized by MainStreet Roswell. Parade-goers were treated to Disney characters, religious themes, patriotic tributes, fire and police crews, cheer teams, illuminated vintage cars and motorcycles, a trolley, a horse-drawn carriage, decorated City of Roswell trucks, Santa Claus, and, yes, an alien. The parade’s theme was “Honoring All Who Served,” with organizations free to express that concept however they wanted, said Kathy Lay, executive director of MainStreet Roswell.
