Outdoor lab for local students

Is that a fly in my water? Berrendo Middle School seventh-grade science students examine water samples under a microscope during a Friday morning field trip to Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge with New Mexico Game and Fish scientists as instructors. At one station, students looked for larvae or other organisms from a nearby stream. At other stations, they learned about fish, plant and wildlife species, conservation practices and the interdependence of species, organisms and habitats.
