GRACE ANN MADRID GARCIA, age 64 of Las Cruces passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 30, 1954 in Roswell to Otilia “Tillie” Barrera and Henry Madrid. Grace enjoyed a diversity of careers within the medical field, and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

On May 25, 1974, Grace married the love of her life, Armando Garcia and together they raised their loving children, all whom survivor her; two sons, Armando Garcia, Jr. and Diego Garcia (Valerie) all of Las Cruces; three daughters, Tania Garcia Valles (Oscar) also of Las Cruces, Nina Garcia-Nigro (Blair) of Dallas, TX and Teresa Garcia of El Paso, TX; her mother, Tillie Madrid; two brothers, Richard Madrid (Anna) and Leo Madrid all of Roswell; four sisters, Alice Garcia (Jerry) of Las Cruces, Ruby Otero (Manuel) of Albuquerque, Diane Madrid (Frost) and Gloria Tegada (Tito) all also of Roswell; her sisters-in-law, Betty Tucker (Tom) of Odessa, TX and Dorothy Garcia of Roswell, as well as four brothers-in-law. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Eddie Madrid; her in-laws, Joe D. and Delfina Garcia and a brother-in-law, Henry Garcia.

Visitation for Mrs. Garcia will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas where Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the same church with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski, Celebrant. At her request cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in a private ceremony.

Serving as casket bearers will be Oscar Valles, Blair Nigro, Armando Garcia, Jr., Diego Garcia, Isaac and Mia Valles.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association | Donate to Fund Research | MDA.org in memory of Grace.
