On Sunday, December 9, 2018, Maria Alberta Mariscal Aguirre, 81, passed away in Roswell, NM. Please take a moment and share a fond memory or kind expression of sympathy for Maria’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

Services: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

On June 2, 1937, Maria was born to Benito O. and Gregoria V. Aguirre in El Tepozan, Durango, Mexico. She was a loving housewife and mother who raised her four children. Maria loved sewing and cooking. She was a very active Catholic. Her life was dedicated to Jesus Christ and The Virgin de Guadalupe. She was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Las Guadalupanas, and the Legion of Mary. Maria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and Sunset Villa, where she enjoyed her life there.

Survivors: Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Maria are her daughters: Luzelena M. Nunez, and Nancy M. Connel; grandchildren: Maria Villalobos, Michael Villalobos, Martin Villalobos, Luz Nunez, Antoniett Gibson (Eugene), Alex Gibson (Aileen), Nancy Ann Connel (Roberto Perdroza), Nikki Vargas (Daniel), Ruben Connel, Joey Connel, Jasmine Estes, Arturo Josh Mariscal, Vanette Chavez; sister, Rosa Bosque; sister-in-law, Carmen Aguirre; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Preceded: Maria was preceded in death by her son, Arturo A. Mariscal; daughter, Maria Antoneta “Tony” M. Gibson; parents, Benito O. and Gregoria V. Aguirre; brother, Ladislao V. Aguirre; and nephew, Ramon E. Aguirre.

Honorary Pallbearers: Chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are Lianna Vigil, Jonathan Vigil, Noah Gibson, Emanuel Villalobos, Alex Nunez, Robert Pedroza II, Adelena Pedroza, Evelyn Pedroza, Randolp Perdroza, Savannah Pedroza, Daniel Vargas III, and Liana Vargas.
