Roswell resident to retire from Marine Corps

Dec. 14 hometown boy and Roswell High School alumni Donald Williams will retire from the United States Marine Corps after 28-and-a-half years of honorable service.

The son of Mrs. Judy Perry and grandson to Mrs. Helen Lott, both lifelong Roswell residents, Donald (Donnie to friends and family) enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1990 upon graduation from high school and has had a long and illustrious career in the service of his country, rising in rank from private through staff sergeant, warrant officer through chief warrant officer three, and captain through major.

Along the way he has deployed overseas to Japan, Kuwait and Iraq, receiving numerous decorations for his combat and garrison achievements. Upon retirement, Maj. Williams will be relocating from his assignment in 29 Palms, California to Washington state with his wife Jena to pursue business opportunities and to further develop their nationally recognized dairy goat herd.

He wishes to thank the residents of Roswell for their longtime love and support for the nation’s service members and their families. Semper Fi, “Always Faithful.”
