Randy Dow Barnett went home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of November 17, 2018 at his home in Oklahoma City. Randy, the next to youngest of twelve brothers and sisters, was born on January 19, 1959 to Boyd and Arlene Barnett in Roswell, New Mexico. He attended Edgewood Elementary School, Mesa Middle School and then Goddard High School where he graduated from in 1977. Randy moved to Oklahoma soon thereafter where he worked for Oral Roberts University.

Randy accepted Jesus Christ as his savior when he was teenager and loved writing songs of praise and putting them to music on the piano. He learned to play the piano by ear and played all his songs by memory. He was the only sibling that was blessed with the talent to play a musical instrument. Randy was a sweet, kind soul, whose other passions outside of his music were watching Oklahoma Sooner and Dallas Cowboy football games.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Arlene Barnett, his sister Karma Daniels, and his brother-in-laws Andy Daniels and Chuck Bratcher. He is survived by brothers and sisters Kent Barnett (Lonna) in Roswell, NM, Lynn Bratcher in Wylie, TX, Brenda Peterson (Roy) in Fairfield, TX, Boydette Head (Jim) in Spring, TX, Tay Barnett (Kathy) in Ruidoso, NM, Beverly Harris (Charles) in Trophy Club, TX, Hal Barnett (Jan) in Roswell, NM, Anita Larson (Keith) in Peachtree, GA, Ben Barnett (Laura) in Spartanburg, SC, Bob Barnett (Teresa) in Ruidoso, NM and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family has scheduled a private Celebration of Life service at First United Methodist Church of Roswell followed by interment at South Park Cemetery. Officiating these services will be his brothers Pastor Bob Barnett from Ruidoso, NM and Pastor Ben Barnett from Spartanburg, SC respectively. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music program of First United Methodist Church of Roswell, Waymaker Church of Roswell or church of your choice.
