Members of Charlie’s Angels Dance Team of Roswell High School brought gifts to the CASA store on Thursday. The gifts are for teenagers who are in the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children program. CASA employees Gabriela Castro, Amanda Lueras and Adelina Mendest greeted the girls and told them about the nonprofit organization, including the CASA courthouse dogs. Lueras said that some of the teenagers had never had their own toothbrush or deodarant. Castro said she wished that the girls of Charlie’s Angels Dance Team could see the faces of the teenagers when they receive the gifts. “For a moment you see them being a child again,” she said. Mendest explained that there is no money exchanged in the store. Items and toys donated are sorted and foster parents can come and pick up Christmas gifts for their CASA kid. Kim Castro, head coach of Charlie’s Angels Dance Team, said that she and her girls look forward to bringing the gifts to CASA every year. Lueras said, “It’s nice to see our youth coming and helping. Many forget about the teenagers when it comes to gifts.” (Christina Stock Photo)
