Johnny L. Sandoval, age 78, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018.

Johnny was born to Orlando and Francis Sandoval in Clovis, New Mexico on March 28, 1940.

After graduating high school in Clovis, Johnny moved to Roswell. He joined the Navy and served on a LST ship as an officer for four years before being honorably discharged.

Johnny owned and operated Roswell Wrecking company having started as a mechanic and dispatcher. He owned and operated the largest salvage yard in New Mexico. Through this work, he achieved his American Dream.

In his early years, Johnny enjoyed coaching his children in little league baseball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family rounding up cattle, hunting, fishing, water skiing, and boating. Johnny’s pride and joy was his family and spending time with them in the outdoors. In his later years, Johnny enjoyed his grandchildren, the little ranch, and gambling.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father and mother, wife Ruby, and son Gary Sandoval.

Johnny is survived by sons: Cliff (Sabrina) Sandoval of Roswell, Clay (Ann) Sandoval of Roswell: brothers Bobby (Theresa) Sandoval of Clovis, and Richard (Sandy) Sandoval of Roswell: sister Jeannie Carver of Albany, Georgia; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of funeral services, a celebration of Johnny’s life will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at his little ranch on 407 E. Gallina in Roswell from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
