Valerie Lopez is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a licensed trainer for suicide prevention and was the guest speaker at the Kiwanis meeting recently. Pictured are, from left: Lopez, Jimmy Masters and Doug Austin. Kiwanis Club of Roswell meets every Tuesday at Los Cerritos restaurant at noon. Lopez also offers QPR (question, persuade and refer) training to help recognize the signs on a suicide crisis — since suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the nation and is a climbing statistic in the state. For more informational training, contact Lopez for suicide prevention training at valeriea.lopez@state.nm.us or at 575-347-2409, Ext. 6242. (Submitted Photo)
