DANVERS – Ms. Eleanor G. Lander, 82, of Danvers, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Twin Oaks Center in Danvers following a lengthy illness.

Born in Roswell, New Mexico, December 10th, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Wilbur and Sarah Virginia (Brown) Lander. She was raised and educated in Roswell and was a graduate of Roswell High School. Eleanor continued her education and received her Master’s degree in Liberal Arts.

Eleanor had been employed for many years as a Language Professor at Northeastern University where she enjoyed the daily challenge of the students and took great pride in shaping the minds of the next generation. Following her retirement from the University, Eleanor enjoyed traveling around the world teaching English as a second language.

Eleanor is survived by her sister, Susan Carpenter and her husband Morey of Albuquerque, New Mexico, her niece Cari Laris and nephew, Greg Carpenter, sister-in-law, Jennifer M. Lander, niece, Caley, nephews Owen and Jessie Lander. She was the sister of the late Gordon B. Lander.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers.
