Jim Cassidy holds a couple of the gift bags donated by an individual that were provided to 13 Chaves County veterans and their families, who also received food baskets filled with items for a Christmas dinner. The Chaves County Health Council provided some funding to support the effort, while Wells Fargo Bank donated bus passes for January 2019. The food and gift donations have been organized for three years by the Chaves County Veterans Interagency Group, founded by Cassidy, a business advisor with the Veterans Business Outreach Center of the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services.
