The public will not be able to contact city of Roswell facilities by phone at certain times throughout the day on Wednesday as the city switches to a new phone system.
The switchover will take place department by department, resulting in each department’s phone service being unavailable during that department’s switchover.
Each department should experience only one phone service interruption during the day and the interruption for each department is expected to last no longer than an hour. The phone switchover should be completed in the one day.
Any citizen who finds they are unable to reach a city department by phone on Wednesday is asked to try the call again after waiting an hour.
The 911 emergency-response system will remain functioning at all times.
City officials wished to apologize for the inconvenience and thank citizens for their patience and understanding as the phone system is improved.
