First Friday continues ‘Heart’ tradition

“Main Street Has a Heart” is again the theme of the First Friday event in February, the third year that MainStreet Roswell has dedicated the month to benefit causes and nonprofits in the community.

MainStreet Roswell and participating businesses will raise donations and promote awareness on behalf of charitable or nonprofit organizations during the Friday event, which begins downtown about 5 p.m. and typically runs until at least 8 p.m.

The monthly First Friday events promote downtown shopping and visits by offering extended store hours and shopping specials or discounts by many merchants in the downtown area.

The Friday event is expected to include animals from Runyan Ranch Rescue Zoo, face-painting for kids and massages for adults, live music at Reischman Park and a food truck. Numerous restaurants, cafes and treat shops in the area also will be open for business.

More information is available on MainStreet Roswell’s website, mainstreetroswell.org, or on its Facebook page.
