The New Mexico Department of Transportation expects to begin a pavement rehabilitation project this month on U.S. 285 from mile marker 101 to mile marker 106, south of Roswell.

Work on this $3.7 million project is expected to be completed this summer, weather permitting.

During the project, motorists can expect a one-lane closure and short delays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Drivers are asked to watch for construction personnel working in the area, observe temporary construction signage and reduce speed to the posted speed limits.

Updates on the project are available on the statewide road information website, nmroads.com.
