Lorin Elwin Sanders was born May 25, 1941 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and went home to spend eternity with his Lord on January 29, 2019.

Lorin was a Loving Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and friend to everyone that he knew. He was a faithful Christian that wanted everyone that he came in contact with to know his Lord the way that he did. Lorin Served his Country proudly in the Navy, and believed in the American way of life and everything that encompasses, he fought to save the freedoms of those he knew and those he didn’t.

Lorin was preceded in death by his son, Lorin Sanders; His father, Garnett Sanders; His mother, Cleo Sanders, and many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and loved ones.

Lorin is lovingly survived by his wife, Fredda Sanders; His son, Leon Sanders and his spouse, Kelli; his

Daughters, Christabel Abbott and husband, William Abbott; and Melissa McKelvey. Grandchildren: Lance Sanders, Tiffany Long, Jeremy McKelvey, Joshua McKelvey, Samantha McKelvey, and Kevin Durbin.

Great grandchildren: Zoey McKelvey, Jayden McKelvey, Jacob Abbott, Marie Sanders, Alexandrite

Sanders, Gwenovere Sanders, Andrew (Andy) Long and Matthew Durbin. He was also Survived by his brother, Ernest (Shorty) Sanders his wife, Jackie; his sister, Jan Neff and her Husband, Eugene, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and friends that he considered family.

The family would like to extend great gratitude and much love and praise to Dr. Adajar, and the Nursing Staff at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, ACU for taking such amazing care, and loving Lorin the way you did. With your help and support he and the family were able to enjoy the blessing of his life. Thank you Jai Lei Moore, his loving niece for taking care of him and always being there for him.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Lorin’s life at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Tabernacle Church and a graveside service at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery in Roswell, NM. This celebration will be followed by a reception at the Tabernacle Church directly following the graveside service.
