Several entities in the region will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day.
• All campus offices at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell will be closed and no classes will be held. The campus will reopen and classes will resume as scheduled on Tuesday. For campus information, call 575-624-7000.
• Public schools in Chaves County will be closed.
• Chaves County offices will remain open, but many city of Roswell and federal offices will be closed.
For the city of Roswell, administration offices, the Roswell Public Library, the Adult and Recreation Center and the landfill will be closed. The Roswell Museum Art and Center is closed every Monday.
The Spring River Park and Zoo and the Roswell Visitors Center will be open.
City bus service and trash pickup will have altered schedules and operations.
Pecos Trails Transit will have buses in operation only on Main Street that Monday. The buses will run from 7:10 a.m. to 10:03 p.m.
For trash service, areas south of Alameda Street, plus areas east of Garden Avenue between Alameda and Second Street (normally picked up on Monday and Thursday), will have their trash containers picked up Tuesday and Thursday. Other areas north of Alameda (normally picked up on Tuesday and Friday) will have their trash containers picked up Wednesday and Friday. Residents with individual roll-out containers must have them placed by the curb the night before the day of service or by 4 a.m. the day of service.
