Mario Othni Cornejo (Ot), 63, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Valerie Cornejo. They shared twenty-four wonderful and blessed years together. Ot was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.

On March 19, 1954, Mario was born in Guatemala, Guatemala to Mario Vierra Cornejo and Blanca Caballeros. He graduated from Goddard High School in 1972. Ot earned his Associates Degree from ENMU-Roswell and worked for Xcel Energy for thirty-three years as a Journeyman Lineman. He was a God-fearing, hardworking man. Ot was not only the kindest man, but he was also a very generous man with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his wife, children, family, and friends. Ot will be remembered for his contagious laughter, beautiful smile, and kind and loving heart.

Survivors: Ot is survived by his wife, Valerie; son, Eli Cornejo of San Diego, CA; daughter, Mariah Cornejo; grandson, Bruno Othni Cornejo of Roswell, NM; mother, Blanca Hernandez of Roswell, NM, parents-in-law, Manuel and Elia Franco; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Jay Gluck, Teresa and Perry Payton of CA.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Dawn Franco; Carlos Franco and Erica Shangraw; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Vierra Sanchez and Tom Sanchez, all of Roswell, NM; ten nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded: Ot’s stepfather, John Hernandez preceded him in death.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S. Main Street, Roswell, NM.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ot’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
