Nancy Ann Miller, 75, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, after a long struggle with cancer. During the final weeks of her life, Nancy was continually surrounded by her loving family. She was a strong, courageous woman who unflinchingly fought cancer to the end.

Nancy was born on April 7, 1943, in Minnesota to mother, Caldonia Walker, and father, Charles McPherson. Her mother, Caldonia Walker died when Nancy was three. Her father, Charles McPherson passed away when Nancy was eleven. Her sister, Judy Brown was sixteen when she was appointed a legal guardian of Nancy and her sister Alene. Judy and her husband, Earl raised the two girls along with their kids, Marilyn and Wesley in Belen, New Mexico, where Nancy graduated from High School. After graduation, Nancy attended Cosmetology School and became a beautician. She worked as a beautician and waitress until she married Linton L Miller of Roswell. They had two children, Leevo Miller of Roswell, and Lavonne Griffin of Ruidoso.

Together, they started a furniture store in Roswell. Eventually, they opened another Roswell Home Furnishing and a kitchen and bath shop. Cooking was Nancy’s passion. She attended cooking classes in San Francisco with Julia Child. She loved sharing and teaching her cooking skills with others. Famous for her pecan pies, Nancy never cooked just one pie; she cooked thirty to share with others. Perhaps Nancy’s greatest accomplishments were cooking and helping those in need. In her business, she was an accomplished interior decorator who helped countless people over the years with their decorating projects. One of her proudest achievements was decorating the waiting area for President Bush and Vice President Cheney when they visited Roswell.
