Mesa Middle School has been adopted by Mary Gonzales, wife of the late Johnny Gonzales and leader of the Community Volunteer Program and Prison Door Ministry.

The arrangement allows Gonzales and volunteers to assist the school by providing school supplies for students in need. Nancy Lopez Elementary is the other local school with a similar partnership.

At this time, Gonzales said the middle school needs colored pencils, regular-sized scissors, pens, pencils and glue sticks to support the education of the middle school students. She said she would appreciate any assistance and donations.

Physical donations may be be dropped off at 1101 Caminisito St. or mailed to P.O. Box 2790, Roswell, NM 88202.

For more information, contact Gonzales at 575-624-7579.
