The Leadership Roswell Alumni Association is comprised of individuals who have graduated from the Leadership Roswell program.

The association began in 1996, to continue improving leadership skills for those who step up, and out of their comfort zones, to become community leaders; and also to provide leadership training for area high school juniors and seniors, and bring alumni together.

For 20 years, LRAA has honored individuals for their commitment to leadership.

Those selected for the awards are recognized at the LRAA Annual Awards Banquet in June.

The banquet is held at the historic VMV Ballroom in Hinkle Hall on the campus of New Mexico Military Institute.

A silent auction is held to raise funds for the upcoming year’s Teen Leadership Institute’s scholarship funding. The recipients of 2019’s Teen Leadership Institute scholarships will be presented during the awards ceremony. Honorees discuss their commitments, their choices, their failures and successes.

Nominations from the community are sought for award recognition in a number of different leadership categories. These include Lifetime Achievement Award, Award for Commitment to Youth, Outstanding Leader Award and Leadership Roswell Alumni Award.

Nomination forms, including the criteria for each award, are available at the Roswell Chamber of Commerce.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 15. Forms can be mailed to Leadership Roswell Alumni Association, P.O. Box 2959, Roswell, NM.
