Dewey Dewayne Hamrick was born in Roswell, New Mexico on May 14, 1943. He graduated from Capitan High School in 1962 before going on to earn an Associate Degree in Art and a bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Dewey worked at the Rehab Center for several years and proudly served 2 years in the United States Army after being drafted in the 1960’s.
Dewey’s three children are Leah Spiewak, Edward Hamrick and Lance Hamrick; 2 grandchildren Krysten and Samantha Spiewak; 3 siblings Ron Chambers and Don Chambers and a sister Deanne Hamrick; his brother John Chambers passed away last October; and including several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hamrick retired from the Pecos Trails Bus Company in Roswell after working several years as a driver then manager. He branched out on his own and ran his own service station for a few years too. Dewey had several hobbies from leather craft, flint knapping, painting, drawing and many more.
A memorial service will be held at 9 am, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at General Douglas L. McBride Cemetery for inurnment of Dewey.
