“He was a quiet man with a gentle smile.

A hunter with passion who would walk for miles.

Until he caught his prey with delight.

And enjoyed a sip of liquor that night.

He adored the life of his small town.

And the silence that helped his soul calm down.

Time could pass and still a bond so strong.

For Veto was a man, that most could get along.

His jokes and laughter would make you grin.

We will miss you now, but will see you again.”

Gilbert’s tribute was written in his honor by his family.
