Inaugural event to feature local breweries, food vendors, DJ entertainment
The Friends of Spring River Zoo and the city of Roswell are asking people to “tap into a worthy cause” by planning to attend the Brew at the Zoo event April 27 to raise funds to support construction of animal exhibit improvements that are a key part of the zoo’s master plan, adopted by the Roswell City Council last year.
“The Friends of Spring River Zoo is grateful to be partnering with the city of Roswell for our inaugural Brew at the Zoo event,” said Kelly Smith, a Friends of Spring River Zoo board member. “All money raised benefits our new mountain lion exhibit. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the Spring River Zoo master plan over the coming years.”
Brew at the Zoo is a first-of-its-kind event for the city’s Spring River Park. Those attending must be 21 or older. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy cold craft beer from local breweries and distributors, as well as food from local vendors and DJ music. There will also be a silent auction and a chance to “adopt” zoo animals, a way zoo patrons can make a personal connection with a selected animal by regularly providing financial help to care for that animal.
The Saturday, April 27 event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the zoo at 1306 E. College Blvd. Tickets are $35 per person, which includes 10 beer samples, one free pour and a commemorative glass. Members of Friends of Spring River Zoo will get a $5 discount on the ticket cost.
Tickets for designated drivers are available for $25 and include unlimited water, tea and soda. Friends of Spring River Zoo are offering attendees a free promo code for Lyft that will get them a ride between the zoo and their residence or hotel.
Tickets are available for purchase. To purchase tickets for Brew at the Zoo go online to FriendsofSpringRiverZoo.org/Events.
