The annual Institute for Chaves County junior and senior high school students held on the NMMI campus seeks to develop leadership qualities. This year, 38 students participated in the Friday and Saturday sessions, which include presentations about leadership traits and responsibilities, assessments of strengths and weaknesses, etiquette lessons and several different types of team exercises. The teen institute is co-sponsored by NMMI, the Leadership Roswell Alumni Association and Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
