Joan L. Ingram was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, 10/20/1926, to Elizabeth Edna Fink Looney and Joseph Claude Looney. After graduating from Wewoka High School, Joan attended the University of Oklahoma. She majored in journalism and home economics and was an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

Joan met her future husband, Tom L. Ingram, when he returned from active duty during WWII. They fell in love and were married 10/26/1947. Tom and Joan moved to Midland, Texas, where Tom began his professional career with Stanolind Oil and Gas Company. They relocated to Roswell, New Mexico in 1952, when Tom was promoted to district geologist and in 1955 the couple decided to remain in Roswell when Tom became an independent oil and gas producer. Tom and Joan raised their two children, Leslea I. Cole, and Joseph T. Ingram, in Roswell.

In 1972, both Joan and Tom received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In March of 1974, they made their first trip to Israel. Not only were their lives forever changed after that trip, but their children’s and grandchildren’s lives continue to be impacted by a love for Israel, the Torah, and the teaching of Jesus.

The greatest joys of Joan’s life were to serve the Lord and to be Tom’s helpmate.

Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom L. Ingram; her parents, Edna and Joe Looney; and her sister, Rosene Looney Hill. She is survived by her daughter, Leslea (Les’a) Cole and her husband Don; grandson Donald (Natan) Cole and his family; granddaughter Yonah Cole Black and her family; son Joseph T. Ingram and his wife Maggie; grandson Robert Burttram; granddaughter Sarah Ingram Gilsdorf and her family; and grandson Matt Ingram.
