North Garden to close for sewer line repair

A small section of North Garden Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday next week, April 1-5, so a broken sewer line serving a church in the 2200 block of North Garden can be repaired.

North Garden will be closed to traffic between 21st and 23rd streets. To provide a little more buffer space between traffic and the work, motorists will be asked to detour at 19th Street, on the south side of the work, and Country Club Road, on the north side of the work.

Residents of that portion of North Garden will have access in and out during the work. The street closure is scheduled to last from Monday at 6 a.m. to Friday at 5 p.m.

Since the church is on the west side of North Garden and the involved sewer line is on the east side of the street, North Garden will have to be excavated to access the sewer line and replace the line beneath the street.
