A large entrance sign went up recently at the under-construction 16-acre New Mexico Department of Game and Fish administrative and education complex on West College Boulevard. NMDGF Captain Andrew Gray wrote in an emailed statement that construction is progressing, but is two or three weeks behind schedule due to weather constraints. “We are very excited about the new complex and plan to start moving into the building at the end of April or first part of June,” Gray said. “We are looking at opening the doors to the public sometime in mid to late June ...” Gray said the department will be moving about 30 years worth of equipment and paperwork from the current facility on 1912 W. Second St. The facility is set to have an OHV (off-highway vehicle) training course and will host classes such as archery and hunting education. (Alison Penn Photo)
